Places to submit very very very short fiction
For those of you, who like me, enjoy the challenge of writing micro-fiction (or hint fiction or postcard fiction or well, you get the point), I’m beginning to compile a list of links of like-minded web sites, ezines and print publications. I’m starting small by looking at places that take work of 50 words or less.
50 words or less
- Blink|Ink – is a quarterly printed publication of short fiction, 50 words or less.
- 50 word stories – a blog by Tim Sevenhuysen. He publishes his own work four days a week, leaving one day open for a guest post. The story must be exactly 50 words.
- 50 to 1 – an ezine that posts only 50 word stories and first line sentences.
- Two Sentence Stories – blog type format where all stories are posted then readers vote. (I guess you could go over 50 words depending on how long your sentences are).
Before submitting, take a look at the site to make sure it is a good fit for your work, read submission guidelines carefully and don’t be afraid to ask questions regarding publication rights.
If you have any other links I can add to this list please let me know.
Happy writing!

I’ve always liked SIx Word Memoirs at SMITH Magazine: http://www.smithmag.net/sixwords/
Thanks Wendy, I’ll add it to my list of links.
Thanks. Great to know.
Unfortunately, there aren’t a lot but it does seem to be growing.
Thanks for the resources! I love the idea of a 50 word story!
Let me know if you submit anything anywhere.
I absolutely will! But first, another cup of coffee. 😀
I hear ya. I can’t function before two lattes.
I submitted a story to http://fiftywordstories.com. It’s called Unasked Questions and leaves you with a lot of unanswered ones. 😛 I am not sure if I’ll get it in, but if I do, I’ll be making a post about it.
That is great! I’ll look out for it.
