Weekly Photo Challenge : Free Spirit

As you may have noticed, it’s been a little quiet here at Postcard Fiction.  I was away camping on the beautiful shore of Lake Superior and am now back with 600 new photos and a ton of inspiration.  And, what a better way to start blogging again, than with the Weekly Photo Challenge.

This photo was taken at sunset but I wanted to play around a bit with the exposure so that I would see more of my kids than just their dark shapes against the orange sky. The sky now looks nearly white and the sun a bright yellow and I love how two or three of the stones in the air are highlighted by the sun.  It’s not perfect but I think it turned out okay and captures this week’s theme of Free Spirit.

  1. A great image. And a nice tribute to the passing of summer.

Thanks Carrie. This is the second year now we’ve spent the last week of summer there and I don’t think it will be the last.

Thank you. THere is something about a beach that kids just can’t get enough of.

Thanks Elena. It’s fun to play around with the exposure and film speed. You never know what you might get.

Thank you. We love it too! I think it must be one of the most beautiful places on earth.

I was expecting a shot of you dropping the kids off at school. Had a good holiday, I see.

Thanks Polly. I’m glad you like the photo (as there are sooo many more that’ll be on my blog soon).
