About this blog:

Thank you for visiting Postcard Fiction, a spot for literary exploration in fifty words or less.  For more of an explanation about the genre of postcard fiction, I’ve done my best to describe it here.

About me:

I am a writer from Toronto who loves for very short fiction.  This blog is my chance to experiment.  Please comment or critique.  I am always striving to improve my writing.  Or if so inspired, leave me your own story.

Please drop by my website, Janet Koops: I writeHere my blogging covers a broader spectrum of topics and is a chance to get to know me better. I can also be found at Koopcakes, a place for me to post photos of, you guessed it, cakes.

    • Hey thank you so much and congratulations on winning it.

  1. I really like the idea of very short fiction, especially postcard sized but whenever I’ve tried it just hasn’t worked so I look forward to learning from you!

  2. Wow, what a fabulous idea. I love this! We are now following and I’m looking forward to nosying around the site.

    • Thanks for coming by, I really enjoyed my visit to your site. I think I might try the 100 word challenge.

  3. Hi Janet! I laughed to see you send me the Kreativ Blogger Award right when I was ready to pass the Liebster Award on to you. 🙂 So here you go:

If you would like to accept, please follow these rules:

    • Thank your Liebster Blog Award presenter on your blog.
    • Link back to the blogger who awarded you.
    • Pick (up to) 5 other blogs who fit within the award parameters (less than 200 followers).
    • Inform them that you have chosen them by leaving a comment on their blog.
    • Post the award on your blog. You can take it from my post here: http://jmmonahan.wordpress.com/2012/01/30/a-happy-surprise/

I really like your blog, Janet and I am happy to pass this on.

    • Wow. That’s so funny. Shall I say great minds think alike? Thanks!

  4. Neat idea, and glad you enjoyed my post about using photos. I often enjoy the challenge of a tight wordcount, myself.

As you can see from my rather tongue-in-cheek post, I completely understand if you choose not to participate. I only pass it on as a means of letting you know I really enjoy your blog!

    Have a great day!

    Carrie

P.S. This is kind of like ping-pong, isn’t it?!

    • Janet said:

Thanks again Carrie! I humbly accept this award but I’m not sure if I can write as acceptance speech as eloquently as yours. It was brilliant!

Aww, shucks. You made me all warm and fuzzy. Glad you were cool with it. I’m pretty sure you are not a smashed, naked lady, but I go where my brain takes me 🙂

  6. Thank you as well for coming by and checking out my blog!
I have not really put myself out there but am inspired to keep going by your note!
And, also to find more interesting and passionate bloggers to fill my reading with variety and like thoughts ; )
Love your short works and appreciate the challenge to say something with impact in so few words.

Hi Janet, do you actually mail postcards with your fiction? After I made my little offer on my blog I thought of your site and thought ‘Oh No, did I copy her idea?’

    • Janet said:

I don’t do it yet but I in the middle of trying to figure out how to do it. Do you mind if I swing by and see what you did? I wasn’t sure if I needed to hire a programmer or if there was software I could buy.

      • Madison Woods said:

So far all I’ve done is post an alluded mention of their availability- I’m planning a whole blog post about the plan and intended products soon. If you want to share ideas, email me I’ll tell you what I had in mind 😉

  14. Hi, Janet. I like this theme! Thanks for the ‘like’ on my Wordless Wednesday post. I am a short stories kind of person. I try to read the longer blogs. But definitely no time to read books with more than 200 pages.

    • Janet said:

Thanks for coming by. I”m glad you like it. (while I haven’t published any on my blog yet, I”m also working on even shorter poetry – 145 characters only)

Wow. Thank you so much Al. It’s such a thrill when someone enjoys something i’ve written. It was very fun to write that pice.

  18. It reads as if you enjoyed writing it. Also, I should have said, I especially liked the transition to the 3rd stanza. Where can I read more of your poetry?

    • Janet said:

This is actually my first attempt at any kind of formal poetry. I would like to try a Luc Bat next.

Hello. Thanks for dropping by my blog. I find your recent comparison between you and your mother quite amusing.

I used to live in T.O. We have great memories of our 13 years there. We moved to San Francisco about 16 years ago.

I hope we’ll continue to cross paths on WordPress.
